A walk in the woods

Sunday, November 20th, 2005

Yesterday Elke and I went to Bad Kreuzen to go for a walk in the snow. We walked around in the Wolfsschlucht and ended our stroll in the old castle of Bad Kreuzen. There is even a youth hostel there (only 01.05.-31.10.). I think spending a night there could be great. Well, to geht back to our walk, there was a Christmas fair, where we stayed for a bit. I forgot my digicam, so I had to take some photos with the mobile phone. Unfortunately it was too dark at the fair to take photos.

Snow!

It’s snowing for the first time this winter! You can take a look at it here: H-nes’ eye. Currently it’s a bit dark, but I bet it will look great in the morning…

during the production of this movie.” At least that’s what they claim in the end credits of “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.” We went to the cinema with nostromo and zombiequeen yesterday to watch the OV in Pasching. I’m really beginning to like the Harry Potter series (I don’t read the books), because each year the movies get a darker feeling.
We also saw a trailer for the Chronicles of Narnia, and I think I have to watch that film too. It looks a bit like LOTR for kids (I suspect because the special effects were done by WETA digital, the same company that made LOTR look great; I’m beginning to think that they reused some props and textures…).

Weekend in Vienna

Monday, November 14th, 2005

Last weekend we went to Vienna. We were there for three reasons:

  • visiting Belinda, a former fellow student of Elke and a good friend of ours
  • attending the wedding of my scouting friend Flo
  • going to the “Kabarett Simpl” to watch “Gefühlsecht” with Niavarani and Gernot
  • I put up some photos in the gallery.
We also went to Schönbrunn to get some fresh air and feed “Hansis”, the Viennese name for squirrels :) . They are very tame and even climb up your leg to get some nuts. Even the tits (birds, not the b00bies!) were very tame and flew to our hands picking up nuts. I made a short
movie (Quicktime, ~1MB) of a cheeky squirrel.

    FH-Austria

    Monday, November 7th, 2005

This weekend I attended a conference of the student’s speakers in the new building of the FH Salzburg in Puch-Urstein. The “Hagenberg” delegation consisted of Bigi, Sam, Hugo, Fabian and myself. We met a lot of nice people, as well as some very taxing ones (especially from Vienna ;) ). There was also a party on Saturday (cheap Glühmost, yeah!). The next conference of student’s speakers from all over Austria will be in Hagenberg sometime in March or April…
