Amiga is still alive!

Some of you may know it already, but I owned an Amiga 500 as a child. Recently, I came across an ebay auction and bought one again :)

Ars Technica has a nice article about the “new” AmigaOne and the recently released OS for this nice little machine. It sounds like a nice alternative to current OSes, especially for working without distractions. Especially for those with a little space in their hearts reserved for the Amiga!

yes, i think amiga500 is a nice little machinery. but unfortunately i think that amigaOs 4 won’t run on it, since amiga 500 is powered by a MC68000 µc and has ~512KB of ram (standard).
i think os4 is made for PPC µc + the amigaone machines seem pretty expansive.

True. Still, it’s Amiga :) And the Amiga500 is just standing around at home for nostalgia. I still need to find some programs though. Turrican 3 for example.

    ummm ….
you need to get .adf disk images
and then transfer them to floppy via e.g. serial cable & software called ‘transdisk’ for example
a bit tricky but works well when established :)
    good luck
