Elke and I went to the Zoo yesterday. It was a wonderful day, and there were many people around, enjoying the free day with their kids in the zoo. Funniest thing was the little girl who cried loudly everytime her fahter was about to lower her down into the childrens petting zoo. It looked like she was afraid of those tiny goats.

Well, we were glad it was over when we finally left. It was nice to see a different zoo for once.

Visiting Speyer

Monday, May 1st, 2006

Yesterday, Elke and I visited Speyer, where we met up with k-thrin and lexx. The pixx are in my flickr-stream. In the evening, we ran around a bit in Heidelberg and had some fun with beer and cocktails.

Spring in Heidelberg

Saturday, April 29th, 2006

I made a panorama from my balcony in Heidelberg. It really was a beautiful day today. I went down to the city center with Elke, and we even found something for nostromo: this nice sculpture of an alien!

Elke and I went skiing on April Fools Day, for the last time this year… The weather was great, only the snow was a bit heavy because of the warm temperatures. I put some photos on Flickr, just klick ahead…

Run or Fun?

Originally uploaded by Hannes Müller.

This Sunday I visited Karlsruhe to meet with k-thrin, lexx, michele and phil. I really enjoyed this day, but I have to find some time to write a short report about it. In the meantime, some photos.

Museum Sinsheim

Sunday, January 15th, 2006

Today Andreas (another BIN student who worked at EMBL for the time of his internship) and I drove together to the nearby town of Sinsheim to visit the rather famous museum there. They got a Concorde there, as well as the russian counterpart by Tupolev (actually the first faster-than-sound plane to actually fly).

Flugzeuge

They even have a Delorean there. It is a really nice looking car, you even notice that special look of the body (brushed stainless steel, for those who don’t know). You can have a look at the rest of the pictures in the gallery (as usual).

We also found some very interesting books in the souveniershop there! It’s really fascinating!

Finally some time – weekend

Saturday, January 14th, 2006

Finally I don’t have to work today, I only have to spend some time with my books to prepare for an exam on 23rd. So I uploaded some pictures of Heidelberg and the castle-tour Elke and I took when she was here. I miss her.

I also found a nice “scientifically sound” paper about determining the length of a cat’s tongue. Read it, you won’t believe how long they are! (And yes, it’s funny too!)

IF Winterfest & presentation

Friday, December 23rd, 2005

12/21: The “Winterfest” (WTF05) took place in Hagenberg. It was great fun and I hope all of the visitors enjoyed the fruits of the work Bigii and I did to make it happen. Pixx: in the gallery
as well als here as zip.

12/22: We had our presentation of our Internship. It was nice to see some of my class again and interesting to listen to what they did.

Innsbruck – Party

Tuesday, December 13th, 2005

Elke, karo, Bigii and nostromo and myself went to the ibk-party (organized by GangMan) by car together. The party was great, and the “Feuerzangenbowle” t the christmas fair in Innsbruck too. Two glasses almost made me forget all thos loud italians there. I also put some Pixx in the gallery (->) and you can download the zipped pixx here.

A walk in the woods

Sunday, November 20th, 2005

Yesterday Elke and I went to Bad Kreuzen to go for a walk in the snow. We walked around in the Wolfsschlucht and ended our stroll in the old castle of Bad Kreuzen. There is even a youth hostel there (only 01.05.-31.10.). I think spending a night there could be great. Well, to geht back to our walk, there was a Christmas fair, where we stayed for a bit. I forgot my digicam, so I had to take some photos with the mobile phone. Unfortunately it was too dark at the fair to take photos.
